FUND RAISING

Toppesfield Playgroup

We were delighted that the Toppesfield’s Little Chestnuts Playgroup made such a generous donation to the Trust of £150 at the beginning of August.

Toppesfield & Gainsford End WI

The WI continues to make donations to Nancy’s Trust and have over this year contributed a very significant sum. We very much appreciate their on-going support.

Toppesfield Shop

We are grateful to everyone who drops their contributions into the shop collection. The fact that people continue do this means a lot to us.

Toppesfield Fund Raising Concert

Once again this event, initiated by the Red Barrows and Bernie Stevenson and hosted by Tony at The Green Man marquee, raised the huge sum of £1025. The dulcet tones of ‘Reptile Dysfunction’ along with two other bands provided the music. It was a fantastic effort from all concerned, not least the three bands who all gave their services free.

Thursday 3rd of March 2011 - Lymphoedema Support Worker Training - 3 Day Course, 3rd to 5th March 2011

From talking to our friends at the hospices the emphasis is changing to more home care and this has led to an even greater need for a flexible multi-skilled staff. The 3 day course for 12 people which Deb Hickie, Head of Care Services, organised and hosted at St. Luke’s Hospice, Basildon, was lead by Jane Wigg from Haddenham Healthcare and funded by The Nancy Salmon Trust. It provided training for staff to support current MLD therapists.

The event proved to be another opportunity for the Essex/Suffolk hospice staff to get together and enhance their network.

Tuesday 11th of January 2011 - EFT Level 1 & 2 Training - 3 Day Course, 11th to 13th January 2011

Our first trust funded course was held at St. Nicholas’ Hospice, Bury St. Edmunds with delegates from St. Nicholas, St. Helena’s Hospice, Colchester, Helen Rollason Centre, Chelmsford, St. Luke’s, Basildon and St. Peter’s Hospital, Maldon.

The course was taught by Emma Roberts and Sue Beer, EFT Masters from the iEFT Centre in London.

Our thanks must go to Rachel Brown and Madeline Bass of St. Nicholas who organised and promoted the event for the Trust, to Julie Parrott who made introductory visits to St. Helena’s and liaised with Emma and Sue, to the staff at St. Nicholas and to all the enthusiastic delegates we had the pleasure of meeting before the course started.

A report and further information about the event can be found on the NEWS page.
